1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using NeuroBrowse, you agree to:

• These Terms of Service
• Our Privacy Policy
• Chrome Web Store Developer Terms (when applicable)
• Terms of AI providers you choose to use

If you don't agree, please don't use NeuroBrowse.

2. Subscription & Pricing

2.1 Subscription Fee

NeuroBrowse requires a paid subscription:

• Regular Price: $5 USD per month
• Student Price: $3 USD per month (40% off with valid .edu email)
• Billing: Monthly recurring, charged automatically via Stripe
• What's Included: Unlimited extension access, all features, all 10 AI models
• What's NOT Included: API costs (you pay those directly to AI providers)

2.2 Student Discount

Students with a valid .edu email address qualify for 40% off:

• Eligibility: Active students with a valid .edu email address
• Price: $3 USD per month (instead of $5)
• Verification: Sign up with your .edu email to automatically receive the discount
• Duration: Discount applies as long as you maintain an active .edu email

2.3 Payment Processing

Payments are processed through Stripe:

• All major credit/debit cards accepted
• Secure, PCI-DSS compliant processing
• We never see or store your full card details
• Manage your payment method via Stripe customer portal

2.4 Subscription Management

• Auto-Renewal: Subscription renews automatically each month
• Cancel Anytime: No contracts, no commitments
• Access Until Period End: If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your billing period
• Reactivation: You can resubscribe anytime after cancellation

3. Use of Service

3.1 Permitted Use

You may use NeuroBrowse to:

• Summarize web content for personal or professional use
• Test features and provide feedback during beta
• Use across 10 AI models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Kimi, Mistral AI, Groq, Meta Llama 4)

3.2 Prohibited Use

You may NOT:

• Share your subscription with others (one subscription = one user)
• Use for illegal purposes or to violate others' rights
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the extension
• Attempt to bypass subscription or payment requirements
• Use to harass, spam, or harm others
• Violate AI providers' terms of service
• Automate or script usage to abuse the service
• Use to scrape or harvest data at scale
• Resell or commercialize access without written permission

4. API Keys & Third-Party Services

4.1 Bring Your Own Keys (BYOK)

NeuroBrowse uses a BYOK model:

• You Provide: API keys for any of our 10 supported providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, Perplexity, DeepSeek, xAI, Moonshot, Mistral AI, Groq, Meta)
• You Pay: The AI provider directly for API usage
• We Don't See: Your API keys are stored locally on your device, never on our servers
• You Control: Which models to use and when

4.2 Third-Party Terms

By using NeuroBrowse with third-party AI services, you agree to their terms:

4.3 API Costs - Your Responsibility

IMPORTANT: You understand and agree:

• API usage incurs costs charged directly by AI providers
• You are solely responsible for all API costs
• NeuroBrowse subscription ($5/month) does NOT include API costs
• We have no control over AI provider pricing or billing
• Monitor your usage with each AI provider to control costs
• Set spending limits with AI providers to avoid unexpected bills
• Typical API costs: ~$0.001 per summary, most users spend $5-6/month total (subscription + API)

5. Refunds & Cancellation

5.1 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a full refund within 7 days of your initial subscription:

• Email support@neurobrowse.io within 7 days
• Full refund of your $5 subscription fee
• No questions asked
• Refund processed within 5-7 business days

Note: We cannot refund API costs paid directly to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Perplexity.

5.2 Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription anytime:

• Cancel through your Stripe customer portal (link sent via email)
• Email us at support@neurobrowse.io
• Takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• No partial refunds for unused days in the month
• Your API keys remain in your browser even after cancellation

5.3 Non-Refundable After 7 Days

After the 7-day window:

• Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable
• Exception: Service outages exceeding 48 hours (pro-rated credit)

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our IP

NeuroBrowse, including extension code, design, brand name, logo, and documentation, are owned by Neurolayer Labs and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

6.2 Your IP

You retain all rights to:

• Content you summarize
• Your API keys and credentials
• Feedback you provide (but we can use feedback to improve the product)

7. Disclaimers & Limitations

7.1 "AS-IS" Service

NeuroBrowse is provided "AS-IS" and "AS AVAILABLE":

• We make no warranties about reliability, accuracy, or uptime
• Beta software may have bugs or unexpected behavior
• We don't guarantee AI summary quality
• Service may be interrupted or modified

7.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are NOT liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (max $60)
• We are NOT liable for third-party services (AI providers)
• We are NOT liable for API costs, data loss, or business losses
• We are NOT liable for AI-generated content accuracy or quality

8. Account & Access

8.1 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your API keys secure
• Maintaining confidentiality of your credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us of unauthorized access

8.2 Account Termination

Your Right to Terminate: You may cancel your subscription anytime (see Section 5.2)

Our Right to Terminate: We may suspend or terminate accounts for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Non-payment or payment disputes
• Fraudulent activity
• Abuse or misuse of the service

If we terminate for cause, no refund will be provided. If we terminate without cause, you'll receive a pro-rated refund.

9. Updates & Modifications

9.1 Service Changes

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue features (with notice when possible)
• Update the extension with new versions
• Add new features or AI models
• Temporarily suspend service for maintenance

Price Changes: If we increase the subscription price, we'll notify you 30 days in advance. Current subscribers will be grandfathered at their existing rate for 6 months.

9.2 Terms Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Updated date will be shown at the top. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use after changes means acceptance.

10. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States. Before filing any legal action, email us at legal@neurobrowse.io and we'll attempt to resolve within 30 days.

1. Free & Premium Tiers

1.1 Free Tier

The free tier includes:

• Up to 5 notes
• 1,000 characters per note
• Yellow note color only
• 2 theme packs
• No image paste
• No voice recording

1.2 Premium Tier

The premium tier requires an active NeuroBrowse subscription and includes:

• Unlimited notes
• Unlimited characters per note
• All 5 note colors
• All 7 theme packs
• Image paste via clipboard
• Voice recording

2. Data Storage & Responsibility

All data is stored locally on the user's device. Neurolayer Labs is not responsible for data loss due to browser cache clearing, extension uninstallation, device failure, or any other local data loss event.

Users are responsible for backing up any important note content. No cloud backup or sync is provided.

3. Cross-Extension Integration

Cross-extension integration with NeuroBrowse is provided as a convenience feature. Neurolayer Labs does not guarantee compatibility across all Chrome versions or system configurations.

4. Feature Modifications

Neurolayer Labs reserves the right to modify free and premium tier feature limits with reasonable notice.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

NeuroNotes is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
