Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about NeuroBrowse

Is my data safe? What about my API keys?

YES - your data is completely safe. Here's exactly how it works:

  • API Keys: Stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage. Never on our servers.
  • Summaries: Communication goes directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider (10 options). We never see your summaries or browsing history.
  • What we DO collect: Your email (for login), payment info (via Stripe - we never see your card), and subscription status.
  • What we DON'T collect: API keys, browsing history, webpage content, or summaries.

Read our full Privacy Policy for complete details.

How much will this actually cost me per month?

Total cost: ~$5-6/month for most users

Here's the breakdown:

  • NeuroBrowse subscription: $5/month ($3/month for students with .edu email)
  • API costs: ~$0.001 per summary on average
    • 100 summaries/month: ~$0.10 API costs
    • 500 summaries/month: ~$0.50 API costs
    • Gemini Flash: FREE with generous limits!

Compare to ChatGPT Plus: $20/month and it doesn't work on webpages!

Plus, you can set spending limits with each AI provider so you'll never get surprise bills.

What if I don't have API keys yet?

No problem! Our setup wizard makes it easy.

When you install NeuroBrowse, we guide you step-by-step:

  • Direct links to get keys from each provider (takes 2-3 minutes per provider)
  • Video walkthroughs for each platform
  • We test your keys to make sure they work
  • Suggested starting model based on your needs

Total setup time: 5-10 minutes. View the full guide

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes, cancel anytime. No questions asked.

Your subscription is managed through Stripe. You can:

  • Cancel from your Stripe customer portal (we'll send you the link)
  • Email us at hello@neurobrowse.io and we'll cancel for you
  • You keep access until the end of your billing period
  • Your API keys stay in your browser even after cancellation

What makes NeuroBrowse different from ChatGPT or other AI tools?

NeuroBrowse is built for browsing. ChatGPT isn't.

Here's what makes us different:

  • Works on ANY webpage: One-click summaries without copying/pasting
  • Persistent sidebar: Stays open while you browse, remembers last 5 summaries
  • 10 AI models: Switch between GPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Kimi, Mistral AI, Groq, and Meta Llama 4 instantly
  • Text highlighting: Select specific parts of a page to analyze
  • Cross-page memory: Compare insights from different articles
  • You control costs: BYOK means no markup, pay only for what you use

ChatGPT is great for conversations. NeuroBrowse is great for understanding what you're reading online.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes - 7-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.

If you're not happy with NeuroBrowse within the first 7 days, email us at hello@neurobrowse.io and we'll refund your $5 subscription immediately.

Note: We can't refund API costs (those go directly to OpenAI/Anthropic/Google/Perplexity), but you can set spending limits to control costs.

Which AI model should I use?

It depends on what you're reading! Here's our guide for all 10 models:

  • DeepSeek: Best value - excellent quality at lowest cost (~$0.0005/summary)
  • Gemini Flash: Quick summaries with a generous FREE tier!
  • Claude Haiku: Academic papers, technical documentation, long-form content
  • GPT-4o-mini: Creative content, code tutorials, conversational summaries
  • Perplexity Sonar: Current events, fact-checking, when you need citations
  • Grok: Real-time info, X/Twitter context, witty responses
  • Kimi: Very long documents, Chinese content
  • Mistral AI: Efficient multilingual summaries, European data compliance
  • Groq: Ultra-fast inference, near-instant responses
  • Meta Llama 4: Open-source power, strong reasoning capabilities

The cool part? You can try all 10 models on the same page and compare results!

NeuroBrowse also auto-detects page type and suggests the best model for you.

Does NeuroBrowse work on all websites?

Yes! NeuroBrowse works on any webpage with text content.

This includes:

  • News articles and blogs
  • Academic papers and research
  • Documentation and wikis
  • Social media posts (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Reddit)
  • Product pages and reviews
  • GitHub repositories and code

The only limitation: paywalled content. If you can't read it in your browser, NeuroBrowse can't summarize it either.

Can I use my existing ChatGPT Plus or Claude subscription instead of API keys?

Not quite - but API access is cheaper and more flexible!

ChatGPT Plus ($20/month) and Claude Pro ($20/month) are subscription products that give you unlimited chat access through their websites. They don't provide API access.

API keys are pay-as-you-go and typically cost less than $1/month for NeuroBrowse usage. Plus you get:

  • Access to 10 models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Kimi, Mistral AI, Groq, Meta Llama 4)
  • Faster response times
  • No rate limits
  • You only pay for what you use (~$0.001/summary)

Total cost with NeuroBrowse: ~$5-6/month vs ChatGPT Plus at $20/month

Is NeuroBrowse available for Firefox, Safari, or Edge?

Firefox and Safari versions are on the roadmap for Q2 2026.
